Jason Campbell
Managing Partner (Founder)

Jason Campbell is a U.S. Patent Attorney and IP strategist with nearly two decades of combined law firm and in-house experience. He began his career at a U.S. patent law firm, handling international filings, prosecution, and legal opinions, before becoming the first foreign in-house counsel hired by a $12B diversified chemical company headquartered in Japan. There, he led global IP strategy, managed the IP portfolios of U.S. and European subsidiaries, and provided comprehensive legal support while harmonizing best practices across the group.

Today, Jason provides high-level IP counsel to a global client base. He serves as fractional counsel to a major global chemical company and continues to expand his practice, supporting a diverse roster of technology startups and mid-sized businesses.

Fluent in Japanese, Jason has extensive experience negotiating complex international agreements, particularly in U.S.–Japan transactions involving technology licenses, joint development, and engineering services. He actively supports domestic and international clients in negotiating IP licenses and related agreements.

He has drafted patents and developed IP strategies across a wide range of technologies, including chemical polymers and formulations (including bio-based feedstocks), polyolefin foams, extruded films, packaging materials (barrier and recyclable), medical devices, power plant systems, and additive manufacturing.

As founder and managing partner of Campbell IP Law, Jason is proud to focus much of his work supporting innovations that reduce environmental impact and improve health outcomes. Outside the office, he is an avid musician, writing and performing original music on guitar and playing in bands.

Jason is admitted to the State Bar of Minnesota and is a registered patent attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. See LinkedIn profile for additional credentials and experience.
